It's all about Munster

Image
Keeping the Rugby in mind (as this saturday Ireland battle England in the 6 nations, to keep their dream of Grand Slam alive ), it's all about Munster and pride.

This is the other corner of yesterday pub: a very nice pub to taste a guiness after a game of the home team: Munster

It's all about rugby, in this town. Limerick has a long tradition of playing rugby, and the city with its successful Munster team, provides numerous players to the national team.

Note: Today France is playing Wales in the 6th Nations... Allez les bleus !!!!

The georgian houses in Limerick have some interesting doors, here's one in Mallow Street.

One of the wonderful doors of the Georgians house, in Limerick, I've been amazed and intrigued by the door handle of this one

The current exposition in the Limerick City Gallery Art, has some very intriguing work from Clare Langan: films of the sea shooted with a high speed camera.

I'd particulary like the flooded room:

The exposition ends the 27th of february 2009

Shannon bridge from the new river walk

Image
Not the best day to go out but:

Tunnel Construction Barge

Image
The barge are actually digging, the river bed, and the tunnel, will be slide-in ( the actual tunnel is constructed, on dry land then immersed, in the Shannon)

The future tunnel

Image
As i was on the river, the other day, i pass the construction site of the Limerick Tunnel.

The Limerick Tunnel, is designed to bypass the city center and connect the Dublin Road to Ennis Road, relieving the road congestion off the actual three bridges.
The picture show the section 3.

For the first time this year, i walked on the newly improved river walk in the city center. A nice job.
