City Canal locks

The locks of the city canal, a lovely rierside walk from the city center to UL.

The Limerick canal is planned to be restored by the city council.

The canal was constructed in 1757-1758 to transport goods (heavy goods, such as turf, potatoes, coal and, guess what, Guinness) to and from Limerick City.

I just love these old stone bridges! I also like the circle of light on the water.
