St John Castle (1)

Another old pic taken with the ActionSampler, these are the cylinder tower defending King John's Castle prominent figure in Limerick city center from the 13th century.

Would you like to have lived in the days when the castle was defending the castle?

I wonder if the sword across the belly or the arrow through the chest really hurt like a bullet does these days, and how people reacted to wounds.

I suppose they had no choice but to fight for those who owned them or provided for them.

It seems so foreign to us in this 21st Century when people can disappear in an explosion and never find enough to put in a basket.
